Postscript Printer Description. A text file that defines the specific characteristics of a postscript printer. The PPD? file contains various printer specific options such as margin sizes, page sizes, or custom printing options that a specific model of printer supports. Each printer manufacturer has a PPD file for their various models of printers which work in conjunction with an Operating Systems printer utlities to communicate and generate accurate printed output.
